Mengupas Dampak Psikologis Pada Remaja yang Memiliki Masalah Penampilan yang Berhubungan dengan Jerawat

Abstract:
“Fase remaja adalah masa ketika anak-anak menuju dewasa dan mengalami berbagai perubahan dalam hidupnya, salah satunya pada hormonal yang menyebabkan masalah jerawat. Masalah penampilan yang disebabkan oleh jerawat dapat menimbulkan berbagai dampak psikologis bagi remaja. Remaja masa kini memiliki tantangan yang berbeda karena lahir ketika teknologi mengalami kemajuan pesat sehingga mereka banyak terpapar media maupun menggunakan media sosial yang ikut menciptakan standar kecantikan yang ideal, yaitu kulit yang bersih tanpa jerawat. Penelitian kualitatif eksploratori ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui dampak psikologis yang dialami oleh remaja masa kini terhadap masalah penampilan karena jerawat dengan menggunakan metode wawancara. Partisipan penelitian merupakan remaja berusia 11-20 tahun. Analisis dilakukan dengan menentukan kata kunci jawaban peserta, kemudian menentukan kategori kata kunci ini. Setelah menemukan kategori, hubungan antara kategori dianalisis sehingga membentuk tema. Hasil menemukan bahwa setidaknya remaja mengalami lima dampak psikologis, antara lain perubahan pada self-image dan self- esteem, adanya perasaan malu dan self-consciousness, adanya komentar negatif dan penghakiman, perasaan sedih dan cemas, serta perasaan marah dan frustrasi. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa masalah penampilan karena jerawat menimbulkan berbagai dampak psikologis yang cenderung serupa pada remaja. Dampak-dampak tersebut saling terkait satu sama lain. Penelitian ini dapat membantu orang tua dari remaja yang memiliki masalah jerawat dan tenaga kesehatan dalam memberikan gambaran dampak psikologis yang mungkin terjadi kepada para remaja, sehingga dapat lebih memperhatikan kondisi psikologis remaja dalam penanganannya.”
