Abstract:

“ABSTRAK Diabetes melitus (DM) merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh berkurangnya produksi insulinakibat dari menurunnya kerja pankreas sehingga meningkatkan kadar gula darah dalam tubuh.Terdapat 5 bagian yang menjadi pilar dalam penatalaksanaan DM, yaitu: edukasi, diet, obat, olahraga,dan monitoring gula darah. Pengetahuan pasien sangat mempengaruhi dalam keberhasilan terapiuntuk penderita DM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran tingkat pengetahuan penderitaDM di RSUP Sanglah mengenai penatalaksanaan dari penyakit itu sendiri. Penelitian ini dilakukandengan metode cross sectional. Data primer yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melaluiwawancara langsung terhadap responden yang berkunjung ke poli diabetes pusat. Sebanyak 95responden terlibat sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan tingkatpengetahuan DM mayoritas cukup (63,2%), pengetahuan diet mayoritas baik (61,1%), pengetahuanobat mayoritas cukup (45,3%), pengetahuan olahraga meyoritas cukup (70,5%), dan pengetahuanmonitoring gula darah mayoritas cukup (51,5%). Dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa mayoritas penderitaDM yang melakukan kunjungan di RSUP Sanglah memiliki tingkat pengetahuan cukup mengenaipenatalaksanaan DM.
